TEDX: Patricia Ryan: Don't insist on English!

At TEDxDubai, longtime English teacher Patricia Ryan asks a provocative question: Is the world's focus on English preventing the spread of great ideas in other languages? (For instance: what if Einstein had to pass the TOEFL?) It's a passionate defense of translating and sharing ideas.
Patricia Ryan has spent the past three-plus decades teaching English in Arabic countries -- where she has seen vast cultural (and linguistic) change.
Languages are dying at an unprecedented rate. A language dies every 14 days.” (Patricia Ryan)

English as WEAPON

You know the most spoken language in the world is Mandarin with 1025 million and Spanish with 390 million, English come third with 328 million.

But I think the language is a barrier and the barrier should be removed for any one.
The worst is to see the people fighting for the best English using it as icon of power and superiority and hitting who not have this capability.
